From Campbeltown to Invergarry, Gary is master of all he surveys
Stewart McIntosh

Gary Duff has been promoted to take charge of surveyors DM Hall’s Oban office, after ten years as an associate with the Scotland-wide surveying firm.

Gary is delighted that he will continue to have the support of John Miller, retiring Partner, who will continue to provide surveying services to all of our clients of DM Hall.

A native of Uddingston, Lanarkshire, Gary (43) joined DM Hall as an apprentice chartered surveyor in 1989 and has risen through the ranks, working in the Falkirk and Kirkintilloch offices before moving to Oban in 1996.

His remit runs to Mallaig, Invergarry and Fort William to the north; Campbeltown to the south; Crianlarich to the east; and the Inner Hebridean islands including Mull, Coll, Tiree, Islay, Jura and Colonsay to the west.

Gary said: “Given the huge variety of properties in this region – from modest bothies to grand country houses – my work is highly stimulating with few houses I’m asked to survey the same and a great many unique in their situation and value”.

As well being a major provider of Home Reports and mortgage valuations, Gary and his team also provide homes and businesses with Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs). He also undertakes an element of commercial property survey work, backed up when necessary by DM Hall’s commercial property team in Glasgow.

Bill Knight, DM Hall’s managing partner said: “Gary’s promotion is well-deserved and comes after twenty-two years of first class service to the firm and its customers. He has made himself a well-known and respected figure in the region and will, I believe, go on to lead the Oban office to even greater success.”
