Scotland’s top commercial property news – back online

Welcome to the new, revitalised, compropscotland. As the commercial property and construction sectors fight their way out from under the rubble of the property crash, we’ll follow the story – step by step and brick by brick. We’ll chart the challenges, report the reversals and celebrate the successes.

Our renewed site provides an unrivalled platform for covering Scotland’s property and construction news. We’re publishing a much wider range of stories across a broad range of sectors – and our coverage extends to every part of Scotland.

Our new services include a highly sophisticated, hassle-free, search system. Go to the top of the home page and you can search by geographical area or by sector –or both at the same time.

The sheer flexibility of the site offers prime advertising and sponsorship opportunities, linked to specific sectors. Click on the ‘all sectors’ button at the top of the homepage to explore our sectoral coverage. While you’re there, check the ‘all regions’ button for our geographical sweep.

We want full reader involvement. Send us your news and views via the buttons at the top of the home page.

Got an opinion on a current issue? Send us your views, ideally with a head and shoulders pic of yourself. (Advice: online stories are best kept to less than 500 words, so keep it crisp and sharp. We reserve the right to edit all information that comes to us).

Disagree with someone else’s opinion? Send us your ripostes and rebuttals (keep it polite, but punchy).

Got a snap of your managing partner falling into a river on a charity hike? Our diary is thirsty for the gaffes, laughs and clangers of the everyday life of property people (and we protect our sources . . .).

Brief details of upcoming events are also welcome.

Contact us, or submit articles, via the buttons at the very top of the site.

What don’t we want? We won’t publish deals that don’t include a rental or purchase price. Nor will we publish press releases proclaiming the fact that your firm has been appointed as marketing or letting agent for a building or site. (We consider those to be adverts).

We have a strong sense of accountability to our readers, advertisers and sponsors. We have a culture of getting it right first time, every time. If we get our facts wrong, let us know and we’ll publish a correction.

Our ambition? We aim to re-establish ourselves the prime noticeboard for the industry in Scotland, the place where professionals come for their property news –and to debate their views with each other.

Property has a bumpy ride ahead of it. To paraphrase David Cameron, all of us who owe our living to bricks and mortar are, indeed, in this together. Stick with Comprop for the highs and lows.
