Q'Mile attracts 15 hoteliers
By Jim Dow
FIFTEEN hotel operators have registered an interest in developing a
luxury boutique hotel in Gladedale Capital’s Quartermile development in
Edinburgh (pictured right).
Colin MacPherson, director at Gladedale Capital, said: “The response
we received from operators – large and small – has been fantastic and
should everything go according to plan, we are confident of selecting an
operator in the near future to allow work to start this year.
“The hotel will form one wing of the Square at the heart of
Quartermile and

there has been a great deal of interest in the other leisure and
retail opportunities making up the other sides of the Square.
“This demonstrates that, despite tightening market conditions,
Quartermile is still an attractive proposition for investors and
prospective tenants.”
The hotel is expected to open for business by summer 2010. Once
completed, it will feature a spa, bar, restaurant and a business centre.
