Short flit, bigger space for GVA

By Jim Dow

Another firm of agents is on the move – this time GVA Grimley, which has taken the entire first floor at the recently-refurbished 206 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, following a period of expansion and the recent acquisition of Alan Watt Consulting.

A comprehensive fit-out on the 9,400 sq ft space has already started and is programmed for completion in late August.  The new office will accommodate the firm’s 55 Glasgow staff, currently based in Sutherland House, St Vincent Street, but provides further scope for expansion for GVA Grimley, with capacity for over 70 staff.

GVA Grimley has achieved substantial growth in turnover and net profit in Scotland over the last three years.

Corporate acquisitions in Scotland during this period have included Mappin Planning and Development, Wright & Co building consultants and, most recently, Alan Watt Consulting.

The refurbishment and redevelopment at 206 St Vincent Street is being carried out by F&C Asset Management, represented by DTZ and Cushman & Wakefield in the deal.

Unusually for an agent, GVA is tight lipped about the rent. “It isn’t something that GVA wishes to disclose at this time,” said a spokesman
