Shares fair for 2nd place Pat

PATRICK Hannay of Drivers Jonas, was one of the many agents who attended the launch last week of the refurbished Stamp Office and he came away being more than a little angelic.

One of the Stamp Office owners is Mike Rutterford whose business angel outfit Archangel helps start-up companies and does quite well out of it.

Guests were invited to provide a business card for a prize draw for £1,000 worth of Archangel shares and Patrick’s card was the one which came out of the hat.

But his was not the first card to be chosen, we hasten to add – that belonged to a property lawyer who apparently paid a visit to the new offices and left before the draw took place

Speaking of lawyers, Neil Collar, who heads the Brodies planning team, was, as we have reported, chosen by the Royal Town Planning Institute as Scotland’s number one planning adviser.

Not that he is blowing his own trumpet about it - despite a busy programme ahead as a member of the Edinburgh Concert Band and its spin-off jazz band, for whom he plays the baritone sax.

Now there’s a novelty; a lawyer with no strings attached.
