HILTON Hotels has announced a major expansion plan which will see it
build 11 new hotels over the next 18 months in a £200 million investment
which will double the outlets it has in Scotland.
The expansion will involve the introduction to Scotland of its
Doubletree, Garden Inn and Hampton brands – aimed at different parts of
the market – which have been a success in the US.
Doubletree is already set to
make its debut as a result of a management agreement with the Dunblane
Hydro which will see a multi-million enhancement project. The Hilton
Hotels Corporation and its subsidiaries will manage the Dunblane Hydro
under the Doubletree by Hilton brand and Ability Hotels (Dunblane), a
member of The Ability Group, will own the hotel.
Hilton has already announced plans for the building of an £18 million,
175-bedroom Hilton Garden Inn at Aberdeen Airport and a Garden Inn at
the SECC’s Glasgow Harbour site is on the cards.
