DTZ asked to find out how sterling is Stirling
DTZ has been appointed to act for three Urban Regeneration Companies
(URCs) in Scotland - by Irvine Bay URC and Clyde Gateway URC on all
aspects of property over a four- and two-year term respectively and by
Riverside Inverclyde URC as planning advisor for four years.
Director Chris Dougray, who is leading the DTZ team on the Clyde Gateway
URC, said: "These three projects are national priorities as determined
by the Scottish Government’s regeneration agenda. They are great
examples of regeneration in action and will provide huge boost to their
respective local economies as well as the overall Scottish economy.”
Meanwhile, DTZ has been commissioned to carry out a health check on the
vitality of Stirling city centre. Edinburgh-based associate director,
Fionna Kell will report her team's findings to Stirling Council at the
end of March.
She said: "Health checks provide a valuable benchmark against which to
measure the
Stirling city centre - under the microscope
effect of future changes in economic activity on a city centre. This
review will provide a picture of how well services are performing in
Stirling city centre."
Andy Kennedy, Stirling City Centre manager and chairman of the
Association of Town Centre Management in Scotland, said: "Scotland's
towns and cities have lagged behind other areas in the UK in using
health checks to inform town/city centre strategies and action plans.“
DTZ's Edinburgh office is experienced in this filed, having carried out
annual reviews of the quality and vitality of Belfast city centre for
the past six years.
