Stirlingshire business park scheme gets the go-ahead
By James Dow
NINE months after submitting its planning application, Gladman
Developments has been given the green light to start work on its
speculative office development in Dunblane.
Gladman has been granted planning permission for the £17 million
development, known as the Dunblane Business Park, fronting the A9/M9. It
now plans to start work on the first phase of the scheme, of 23,500sq ft
of offices. It will comprise a mix of 1,027sq ft, 2,212sq ft, and
5,203sq ft units, available for sale or lease, in an area where it is
notoriously difficult to buy office space. The total speculative office
development covers 95,000sq ft.
The business park will be built on a 7.65-acre site which is part of the
Old Barbush Quarry. It will be the only commercial element, and
completes the development of the site, alongside a high-quality
residential scheme and a care village.
According to Susan Pegg, development manager based at Gladman
Developments’ Scottish office in Livingston, Dunblane Business Park will
help fulfil owner occupiers’ requirement for office space in and around
Stirling.
She adds: “It will be a rare opportunity for business owners and
investors to acquire smaller office units in the Stirling area. There is
little speculative accommodation available for lease or purchase.”
The first new office units will be ready for occupation in spring 2009.
