It's not all pruning at DTZ

APPOINTMENTS

WHILE DTZ has had to make some job cuts UK-wide, with Scotland’s loss being around five posts, it has been expanding in other areas and has announced that following a period of continued business growth and strategic appointments it has enlarged its property management division to its highest ever level.

Over the last 12 months, the team has increased staff numbers from four to 12 in Edinburgh, bringing the total across the business to 30.

New business, including City Park in Glasgow and the reappointment of DTZ by life assurance and pensions company, AEGON, have enabled the division to grow significantly. The reappointment by AEGON has also seen DTZ associate director, David Thistleton, seconded into AEGON’s property team.

The appointments in Edinburgh of Judy George, senior surveyor from Ryden, and Andrew Petrie, from AMEC, have further strengthened the operation as well as promotions

J&E Shepherd has appointed Frank Malcolm (pictured right) as head of its Edinburgh building surveying department, moving from CRGP, where he was an associate.

Shepherd says his expertise in building surveying has been realised through close involvement in many insurance reinstatement refurbishment projects, large stock condition surveys and project monitoring of both residential and commercial developments on behalf of major lenders.
